Colorado security-deposit law (CRS 38-12-103) gives landlords up to 60 days to return your deposit, and deductions for cleaning are common. Use this checklist to protect yours. Kitchen: inside oven, inside fridge, inside microwave, exhaust hood degreased, all cabinets and drawers wiped inside and out, baseboards, light switches, and door frames hand-wiped. Bathrooms: soap scum and hard-water removal (the Front Range has notoriously hard water), tile grout brushed, exhaust fans dusted, vanity drawers wiped. Bedrooms & living: closet shelves, blind slats, ceiling fan blades, window tracks, baseboards, all marks spot-cleaned from walls.
